About the event

Help support our rescue efforts by entering our contest to decide baby names for Gemma's little ones! Once the fundraiser date has ended, we will draw a random name the following day and post the result on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/junipersguineapigs

The contest winner will recieve the following:

  • Naming the baby that corresponds to their ticket
  • 1 guinea pig themed notepad
  • 1 guinea pig themed magnet set

About the guinea pigs:

These babies belong to the litter of Gemma, one of our newest additions to the rescue. Gemma was brought into our rescue along with 35+ other guinea pigs from the hoarding situation in Wasilla recently. These guinea pigs were living outside in terrible conditions, and many guinea pigs like Gemma were also preganant upon rescue. Gemma herself struggles with malnutrition as do most of the other guinea pigs that were rescued in this group. Gemma has been living with one of our fosters, with lots of attention and care while healing so that she too can one day find a forever home. She overcame a minor leg injury after her initial arrival, and was able to give birth to 3 wonderful little pups. These babies are still learning the way of guinea pig life. We're sure they'll get the hang of wheeking for snacks in no time!  Our baby name contest is a great way to support our rescue efforts in rehabilitating those we rescue, and help ensure these new bundles of joy born in our care take time to find good homes.

Tickets

  • Baby 1 - 1 Name entry

This baby is brown, with a white stripe, and a white stripe on their neck, and head. They have red eyes which can be unique, but are nothing to be afraid of! They are the shy one of the trio. Don't be fooled though, this little one is sneaky and will steal any snacks from the adults of the group, so long as the humans are distanced enough. They enjoy running from hidey to hidey, and often like to popcorn/sprint with their baby sibling (Baby #2).

  • Baby 2 - 1 Name Entry

This baby is tri-colored with black, white, and brown fur. They also have distinct eyebrows commonly seen in Coronet guinea pigs. This little one is the spaz of the group, getting zoomies often, for almost no reason at all, and loves to climb on top of mom. They are a little shy when mom isn't around, and often run away to a dark place when given treats.

  • Baby 3 - 1 Name Entry

This baby is the spitting image of mom, without the crested forehead. They are white, with a small brown stripe on their back, and a brown face. They may be the smallest of the trio, however, they have the most independence so far, being the first to many things such as, entering the hay box with mom, eating alone, eating pellets for the first time, and being calm so long as the pigs around them are as well. They are often seen exploring on their own, and picking new things up quickly.
