Our Story

Juniper's Guinea Pig Rescue began in 2022 from a love of guinea pigs and a simple desire to help.

After two beloved guinea pigs passed away from natural causes, a few new companions were welcomed into the herd so one wouldn't be left alone. As more guinea pigs in need began crossing our path, what started as helping a handful quickly grew into something much bigger.

It became clear there was a need for a dedicated guinea pig rescue in Alaska—a safe place where guinea pigs could receive proper care when their families could no longer provide it. Since then, we've welcomed guinea pigs from owner surrenders, neglect cases, and other situations where they needed a second chance.

Today, we're a volunteer-run nonprofit committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming guinea pigs while educating our community about proper guinea pig care. Every guinea pig deserves a safe, loving home, and we're grateful to everyone who helps make that possible.
